Rotary Four Way  Speech Test Competition
Applecross Rotarian Suresh Prabhakaran organised a Four Way Test Speech Contest on 1 November. The Four Way Test Speech Contest is a public speaking contest.
Each 5-6 minutes speech, is on a topic of the contestant’s choice which incorporates the Four Way Test. Heats are held at Club, Group and Zone levels and will culminate in the District final at the District Conference in March 2018. The three judges for the Applecross Rotary contest were senior members from Toastmasters, Sara Eaton, Almarie Meyer, and Leonor Ragan.
The contestants were year 10 students Eva South, Fortune Aniyi, Sihza Farhan and Bartholomew Tang from All Saints’ College, Ning Wong and Arlen Wambley from Applecross Senior High School, and Mihan De Silva from Willetton Senior High School. The winner, was Mihan De Silva, who spoke about Community Service and the importance of Volunteering. The winner and. the two runners-up Eva South and Ning Wong, will now do battle with winners from other Clubs and hopefully one of them will make it all the way to the finals at the Rotary District Conference in Margaret River in March 2018.
