Mann Made Climate Change
Our speaker Dr Michael Creech told us that scientists like himself are over-represented as climate change skeptics. They are the keepers of inconvenient science.
There were more surprising revelations to follow, starting with dismantling Michael Mann’s infamous hockey stick graph.
Dr Creech gave us the science behind climate change with examples of Greenland two million years ago which was green and forested. Greenland’s ice has melted many times over that period, all without the aid of man made industrial pollution.
The International Panel on Climate Change is not an impartial authority and built on a myth.
Closer to home, when Gina Rinehart addressed her old high school in 2021 about climate change, her speech was edited by the school and critics said she should stick to reputable science. Based on science based truths, she advised students to always search for the facts, not accept popularly held beliefs.
In 2007, Al Gore’s movie, An Inconvenient Truth, was discredited by a judge and found to be alarmist and exaggerated. The judge ruled it should not be allowed to be shown to schoolchildren in England.
Al Gore is not a scientist, he is a politician. Similarly, Australian politician Chris Bowen’s comment that climate change deniers should be given facts by the rest of us is equally false.
“Mann” Made Climate Change is climate misinformation. It is causing today’s youth climate anxiety.
Science tests an idea or hypothesis by assessing all available facts, including new evidence, making useful predictions and allowing for one prediction to prove the idea false. All facts must be empirical and real world data; a peer review should ensure that all these tests have been met and the theory must always be open to challenge and scrutiny. There should be no abusive name calling. In other words, facts work.
Einstein once said: 100 scientists will not prove a theory true – it takes just one fact.
How many times have we heard that climate change is catastrophic? But has it happened yet?
Turtles have lived for 200 million years, in temperatures 15 degrees warmer than today. Polar bears have lived one million years; and humans 100,000 years in temperatures 4deg warmer than today.
CO2 and temperature dance to two different tunes. There is no correlation. CO2 is a symptom of climate change, not a cause. Solar cycles are the primary driver of climate change.
In 1992, 40,000 scientists signed a petition against the theory of MMCC. But misinformation is still out there.
Members learnt a lot about the science behind climate change in a mere 40 minutes. Personally speaking, it made me feel a lot better about our human race history and effect on our beautiful earth.
