Landmark Joint Meeting of RC Washington, Pennsylvania and Applecross RC. Meeting commences 7.00am.
This is an exciting initiative organised by PP Chris Whelan. While the meeting is introductory, it will not only result in close ties with a fellow Rotary Club, but also build on the great work that both Clubs are already undertaking in Kenya.
Last week, we heard from Wilfred Hendriks from Victoria Park RC and Kim O’Meara. Kim introduced Laughter Yoga to the African country of Rwanda to help rehabilitate genocide survivors from the mass violence that occurred over a 100day period in 1994. More than one million Rwandan Tutsi and moderate Hutu people were slaughtered. Kim’s efforts, together with Rotary’s contribution, has laid a base for building resilience, peace, rehabilitation, love and trauma healing in Rwanda.

Greetings all.
We are into the final week of preparation for this event. I have attached the roster and as you will see there are several “gaps” mainly in the mid to late afternoon and evening. The ideal is for 2 members to be on duty at all times.
It would be more comforting to have a third person as a backup but as you will see we don’t have much depth. This is a concern. If you have any spare time could you please fill in some of these vacancies. Let me know ASAP – thanks
Also we are in need of those 6 Trestle tables which I referred to in an earlier email – anyone who has any tables let me know.
Cheers
Hamish
