Hoping that everyone has had an amazing week.
We are etching closer to JacFest 2022! Signs look great except for a little hiccup due to some adverse weather.
Thanks for everyone's efforts thus far efforts thus far. The City of Melville birthday gift has been erected at the village.
Last week had a meeting with City of Melville Roteract and excited to be working with them on a 2023 Youth Portfolio Calendar which will include a Easter Fair aimed and young kids in the area, as well as bi-monthly events including, speed dating nights / quiz nights / speaker nights.
Thank you to John Kelly for stepping in and helping me out by taking my spot at the PMM, as I ended up having to work. Initial reports are that we had another successful fundraising event with the PMM attracting another big crowd. It was a great effort from our members, and we are very appreciative of the support from the Waylen Bay Sea Scouts, Rotary E-Club and Attadale Rotary. Once again the club ute and trailer proved an invaluable resource as shown in the following photo.
Thanks to Peter Symons for joining us once again as our guest speaker for our special Melbourne Cup Day breakfast meeting. Lorri once again worked her magic and arranged a special breakfast provided by DOME. The best hat competition was won hands down by Mike Smith. Mike and Erin along with Liz and Lorri dressed for the occasion, bringing some glamour of the cup to the meeting as shown in the following photos.
Looking forward to hearing Graeme talk tomorrow - see you all there.

RYLA is an intensive eight-day program designed for 18-28 year olds with leadership potential and a commitment to community service. The program is a unique opportunity aimed to bring participants out of their comfort zone and challenge them to think outside the square while actively using and building on their existing skills and knowledge. RYLA includes seminars, workshops, physical activities and team games relating to areas including Communication and Public Speaking, Leadership, Team Work and Group Dynamics, Problem Solving and Decision Making, Goal Setting, Time Management and Self Awareness and Emotional Intelligence. All applications must include the name of their sponsoring Rotary Club, and we expect that applicants have contacted their local Rotary Club to arrange sponsorship prior to submitting the form. The RYLA Committee will assist with this if necessary. Applicants are interviewed prior to acceptance onto RYLA. Successful applicants will have the energy, commitment and motivation to develop their leadership potential and be willing to challenge themselves physically and mentally over the course of the program. Please note: Applicants who have come to us via a Rotary Club will receive priority acceptance onto the program.
RYLA is held at the Serpentine Camping Centre from Saturday 7th January – Saturday 14th January 2023.
Rotary Club Sponsorship for a RYLA participant is $900, and the participant contribution is $250. This includes all activities, accommodation and meals for the week.
